Well is Springtime here or is it just teasing us???? We have had a very long winter but I think it might just be warming up for good. Tanner is well into the baseball season and although the team is not doing very well, Tanner as a Freshman is starting and playing the whole game for varsity! He started the season playing only the last couple of innings but now he is playing the whole game on 3rd base. He also pitches for JV.

Nick hasn't started but is planning on playing baseball in Jacksonville this summer at the Pony-Colt park. He is excited about that.

I havn't had alot of time this winter to put alot on here. It's been a very long and busy winter. I will be glad when basketball is over and we can get on with springtime and baseball!!! Not too much has been going on with us this winter. Mike and I have been very busy at work and although we don't like it, we are very glad that we have "secure" jobs!!! With me working in the ER and he is a manager at Walmart, I don't think we will be going anywhere!!! (I won't hold my breath though)

Mike will turn the big 4-0 on Feb 25!!! I was wanting to have a party but he wants to just get away, so that's what we are going to do.

It was nice to see Red Dog and so glad he will be staying in Franklin during this job he is on...yes we are finally getting a sewer system in Franklin!!!! Yeah!!! It will be good for him and Tanner to be close this summer and maybe Tanner can help him out. Thanks Red Dog for scooping our driveway the other day when it snowed so bad!!! We really appriciated it!!!

Nick is really going through a growth spirt!! He is almost as tall at me! He is being a really good boy and trying to make the transition to "teen-hood" LOL

Tanner is doing pretty good in school, he is always busy but always is where he is supposed to be and home on time.

So that pretty much does it for us.
Hope all is well with all of you....I will blog more later.

Tanner went to Homecoming last weekend with Kelsey Whalen. They are just friends but had a real good time.

Here are some more pics of Tanner playing football.

Tanner went to his 1st homecoming dance Sat. He went with his friend Hannah. Kollin and Tanner went with the girls out to eat and then to the dance. He seemed to have a good time but he hasn't said much about it.

Nick ran Cross Country this year. He did a great job running 2 miles at each meet and 2-3 miles every nite at practice. He took 7 mins off of his time by the end of the season, now he is in shape and ready to start basketball next week!!! Great Job Nick!!!

These are some pics of Tanner and the whole Franklin/Waverly/New Berlin Pretzel. This is the pics from the Jacksonville Journal Courier. Tanner was 1 of only 2 Freshman that played on the Varsity team!!! He was their punter.

Tanner's graduation

Friday, May 02, 2008

Ok, so y'all are wondering, why so many pictures of Springtime in Franklin??? Well I will tell you, it has been a very, very long winter that consisted of massive snow storms, a major ice storm, lots and lots of rain and even an earthquake!!! Today is May 2 and we have only had about 3 days that the temp was above 60 degrees. One of those days was today so I decided to go out and take some pictures. I hope y'all enjoy.

Spring has sprung!

AHHHHHH!!!!! Spring is finally here!! This is from the tree in our backyard. It bloomed just beautifully this year.

The Cardinals game

We enjoyed the day today at the St Louis Cardinals game. It was a good game and the Cardinals won 5-1. We saw Albert Pujols and Troy Glaus hit homeruns and almost saw a fight on the field. The boys really thought that was cool. It was a little cool outside but we had a great day for a game.

Graduation party changes

Ok, we decided to change the plans for the party. Since the graduation is at 8pm on Thurs. we decided to get together from 5:00-7:30 that day at the Franklin American Legion and go to the ceremony afterwards. That way it won't be so late for people to get home on a Thursday nite. Hope that works for everyone and hope you see y'all there.

Tanner goes to the hospital

Yesterday I had to take Tanner to the hospital. He was at a friends house Fri. nite and started chillin and throwing up all of a sudden. I was at work so he went to mom's for the evening. When I picked him up he had a fever of 103.8. He threw up there and in Pisgah on the way home. He woke up at 4am with stabbing pain in his rt lower rib area so I took him to the hospital. I was worried he had appendicitis but it turned out to be pneumonia!! He got IV fluids cause he was very dehydrated, IV antibiotics, blood work and chest xray. He was really sick!!! Well thanks to the wonders of antibiotics, he is doing great today and wants to go shopping in Springfield!! I don't think that's going to happen, but I am glad he is feeling better.
